A job in Gas Engineer Software acts as a container for any records, job photos, and other relevant files related to a specific job. It sits in a heirarchy within Gas Engineer Software:

Customer > Job address > Job > Records

Creating a job in Gas Engineer Software

We'll walk through the steps of creating a completely new job and linking a new record to an existing job.

On the web portal

There are two easy ways to create a job on the web portal. Both work the same, so it is entirely up to preference.

First method:

  • Click on the "Create New +" button on the top right corner of any page.

  • Click on 'Job'

  • Search for the 'Customer' and 'Job address' and click 'Create'

Second method:

  • Click on the "Job Addresses" tab at the top of the page.

  • Find and select the job address.

  • Click the "Add Job" button on the right-hand panel:

After either of these steps, you are prompted to add information about the job.

Add all necessary details, and click "Save".

Note that any information in the "Job Details" will appear on the calendar within the app

From the job page itself, you can create a range of records, an appointment or add photos:

On the mobile apps

Like the web portal, there are several ways to access the job creation page. The button you are looking for is the "+ Add new Job" button.

Mostly, this involves:

  • Method 1: Tapping on "Jobs" from the home screen.

  • Method 2: Tapping on "Records" and then selecting a record.

Both methods require you to select or create a new customer and job address.

If you want to quickly create a record for a job that has not yet been logged into your system, we recommend Method 2.

However, to have full control over a job's details, go with Method 1.

Creating a new job this way will allow you to enter job details such as a description, status, due date, and more.

Tip: You can create a new record directly from a job page. This will automatically attach the new record to that job.
