Downloading Your Invoice Data
Click on the "Invoice" tab.
Click on the "Export Data" button:
Decide the date range you would like to download.
Open the downloaded file with Excel, or similar.
The file will be downloaded as a .csv, which can be opened in many standard spreadsheet software options, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
It will contain all of your outstanding, paid, reconciled, and archived invoices - but not drafts.
⚠️ Note for iOS and Safari users
To export this data as a CSV file, Pop-Up Blocking must be turned off in Safari.
Follow the steps below based on the device you are using.
Safari on iPhone / iPad (Mobile App)
Open Settings on your device.
Scroll down and tap Apps (or Safari, depending on iOS version).
Select Safari.
Under the General section, find Block Pop-ups
Ensure the toggle is turned off (grey). Green = On (blocked) Grey = Off (allowed)
Once Block Pop-ups is turned off, return to Gas Engineer Software, and you will be able to export the data as a CSV.
Safari on macOS (MacBook)
Open Safari.
From the top menu, click Safari → Settings.
Select the Websites tab.
Click Pop-up Windows in the left-hand menu.
Locate Gas Engineer Software (if open) and change the setting to Allow.
Alternatively, you can allow pop-ups for all websites by changing “When visiting other websites” to Allow.
Once pop-ups are allowed, return to Gas Engineer Software, and you will be able to export the data as a CSV.
Strange Text On Downloaded Data
If the software has not opened the file as the correct file-type, you will likely see "Â" everywhere.
We are actively working on a fix for this, but here is a short-term solution:
Open the downloaded .csv file.
Copy the character "Â".
Press "Ctrl" + "F" (or "CMD" + "F" on MAC) to open the "Find and Replace" window.
Click on the Replace tab.
Paste the "Â" in the "Find What" section.
Leave the 'Replace With' Field blank.
Click the "Replace All" button.
Click OK, and then Close.
All of the "Â" characters have been removed.
Notes:
For Safari users, exported files will likely be saved as a .numbers file. Simply rename the file by replacing the file extension with .csv
For example:
GES_export_properties2020-02-19.csv.html
Would become:
GES_export_properties2020-02-19.csv
This will get your spreadsheet software to recognise it.Currently, it is not possible to download invoice data for a specific customer. However, this can be easily filtered with the .csv through your spreadsheet software.
