Boiler AI Assist sits alongside the boiler manuals in the Gas Engineer Software mobile apps. Instead of flicking through a 50+ page PDF, just ask a question — the assistant reads the manual for you and points you to the exact page.
Where to Find Boiler AI Assist
Boiler AI Assist is available in the Gas Engineer Software mobile apps (iOS and Android).
To open it:
Open the app
From the Home screen, tap Tools & Manuals
Tap Boiler AI Assist
Alternatively, you can tap the boiler icon that appears in the bottom right of the app home screen.
Tip: If you'd rather browse the manual yourself, you can still open it directly. See How to Access Boiler Manuals via the Mobile Apps.
Asking a Question
When you open Boiler AI Assist, you'll see a welcome screen with a few suggested questions to get you started — things like:
"How do I put a Baxi Combi 200 into service mode?"
"What information must be on a Gas Safety Record?"
"Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830 error F22 — what does the manual say?"
To ask your own question:
Tap the input bar at the bottom of the screen ("Ask a question…")
Type your question — you can ask about installations, commissioning, fault codes, error diagnostics, regulations, or anything else covered in the manuals
Tap the orange Send button
The assistant will reply within a few seconds.
Understanding the Answer
Each answer is built from the boiler's manufacturer manual. Underneath the response, you'll see a small orange source tag that tells you exactly where in the manual the answer came from — for example:
📄 Baxi 200 Combi — Installation & Servicing (p.42)
Tap the source tag to jump straight to that page of the PDF inside the app. It's the fastest way to verify what the assistant told you, or to read more context around the answer.
Getting the Best Answers
Boiler AI Assist works best when your questions are specific. A few tips:
Include the make and model — "Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830" gives a sharper answer than just "Vaillant boiler"
Quote the fault or error code — "F22 on a Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830" beats "low pressure error"
Be clear about what you want — service mode, ignition sequence, clearance distances, flue requirements, pressure ratings, etc.
Ask follow-ups — if the first answer doesn't quite cover it, refine your question and ask again
What to Keep in Mind
AI can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.
A few things worth knowing:
Always verify safety-critical information against the manual itself — the source link makes this quick.
If a manual for a specific model isn't in the software yet, the assistant won't be able to answer questions about it. Let us know, and we'll add the manual for you.
Boiler AI Assist is for technical reference only — it doesn't replace your professional judgement on-site.
As this is a new feature, the experience will keep improving. If something doesn't work the way you'd expect, please submit feedback or message us in chat.
