How to Attach Photos to an Email

How to attach photos to the emails sent directly from your Gas Engineer Software account.

Attachments, including job photos, can always be attached to an email before it is sent. However, storing photos under a job allows you to keep them safe in your account, accessible at a later date, and have them automatically attached when you issue a record or certificate.

On the web portal

  1. Head to the "Jobs" tab and select the job you wish to add photos to.

  2. Click on the "Photos" button in the right-side panel:

  3. Drag and drop or click "Browse" to upload your photo(s). Click "Save All Photos" when you are finished. These photos are now saved under this job for future reference.

    Note: The "Do not send to customer" option is there if you want to keep the photo purely for your reference.

  4. If you have left the "Do not send to customer" option unticked, the photo will be automatically attached when you email any record or certificate.

    Remember, if you want to add any additional, one-off photos to the email, you can click the "Add attachment" button.

On the mobile apps

For your convenience, photos can be added directly from your phone to an email, job, or when creating a record on the app.

Photos can be added from your photo library or by using your camera to take a new one.

Please note: The Gas Engineer Software app does not support all image types including Apple ProRAW. If you are trying to upload images and nothing uploads, please ensure your image type is a standard format such as a jpeg or png.

Method 1: While issuing a record or certificate

On the email screen, you will see a little paperclip icon in the top right corner. Tap it, and you'll be able to upload photos and other attachments to the email.

After uploading the image, tap the "Do not send to customer" box if you want to keep this photo for your own reference only.

Method 2: Upload photos directly to the job

From the app homescreen, tap on "Jobs" and locate the job that you want to add a photo to.

Towards the bottom, you'll see a "Photos" button. Tap it, and you'll be able to upload your photo.

Check whether you would like the photo to be sent to the customer, and tap "Save"

Method 3: Upload a photo while creating a record

If you are in the middle of creating a record using the app, you can quickly add a photo without exiting out of the screen you are on. Simply tap on the camera icon in the top right corner.

If you need to take a new photo, tap on the upload area and select "Camera". Alternatively, you can upload an existing photo from your camera roll.

Select whether you would like the customer to receive the photo, and tap "Save".


Any previously saved photo can be easily found on the web portal or app by locating the job, and then viewing the photos saved to it. This makes it a great tool for both sending customers photos and for your own future reference.
