There has been a lot mentioned about the GDPR Legislation, so we have gathered some useful information for you here.

We've published an article on our blog concerning the GDPR, which you can find here.

Our privacy policy can be found on our website here.

We have passed an independent 3rd party audit, and we now have the Cyber Essentials and the IASME Consortium logos on our website to state that we are GDPR compliant.

Here is a useful link from the Information Commissioner's Office website with a lot of info that makes it clearer:

Gas engineers have a legal obligation to keep any gas safety certificates they issue for 2 years.
Therefore the lawful basis for processing your customers data is a legal obligation.

You need to include information about your lawful basis (or bases, if more than one applies) in your privacy notice.

Under the transparency provisions of the GDPR, the information you need to give people includes your intended purposes for processing the personal data and the lawful basis for the processing.

Mailing your customers

Should you wish you can send your customers an email from a template using a free mailing service called MailChimp.

To get all of your customer's email addresses, log into the Gas Engineer Software website and go to the Job Addresses tab, and click Export Data.

This will download a CSV spreadsheet with all of your contact data, in which one column will contain email addresses.

We hope this helps, and if there is anything else we can help with then don't hesitate to contact us.
